Living life in Overwhelm?

frustrated from being misunderstood?

I am a neurodivergent affirming counsellor who works with adults and young people. My passion is to support you by helping you feel calmer and embrace who you are. Email counselling is now also available.

Have you ever felt different to others around you and misunderstood? Perhaps you feel like you are broken and often look for ways to fix yourself? Maybe you compare yourself to others which leads to feelings of overwhelm (that feeling that you are on a roundabout that you can't get off). Whether you are worried about yourself or your child, who are perhaps questioning autism, ADHD or gender, I can help.

Starting to understand more about who you are and feeling more confident to be yourself doesn't have to feel scary. It can;

  • Help you feel hopeful about your future, setting you on a path to reach your own goals and not someone else's.
  • Help you to accept yourself for who you are and celebrate your uniqueness without fear or judgement.
  • Help you to explore what is really important to you and set boundaries for yourself.

 giving you a variety of ways of working together that may suit you.

My Approach

My gentle approach will put the client at the forefront of the sessions and allow you to explore what you feel is important. I use an integrative approach which allows me to tailor an approach for you.

My Experience

I have a wealth of experience of caring for adults as well as working as a counsellor in a local hospice. Here I have worked with both adults and young people from patients to carers and bereaved family members. I have over 15 years' experience working with children and my training was as a counsellor in a secondary school.  I have worked with a variety of issues such as anxiety, depression, self harm, grief, gender identity and self esteem.

Counselling Children and Young People

I work with children aged 12 and above.

Young people also deserve to be heard. I create a welcoming atmosphere and adapt the sessions to each individual child. Counselling with young people can often involve a creative approach to help the child feel comfortable and relaxed. Sensory needs are taken into account, and fidget toys are welcomed in the space.
